Provelio have delivered a wide variety of Energy & Utilities projects, from energy efficiency refurbishment works on existing sites, to de-risking sites due to flood risks and the stabilisation of underground mine shafts.
Green Cornwall
Green Cornwall was a programme of works for Cornwall Council consisting of 158 small carbon-saving projects. This included the installation of Biomass Boilers, Voltage Optimisation, Microhydro Generation, Combined Heat and Power Systems, Photovoltaics and LED Lighting.
Bradwell Plant and Structures Programme
Captured and reported on the most significant lessons learned within a large programme of works across the Magnox property portfolio. Additional requirements included reporting on identified early lessons learned which could be transferred across the rest of the portfolio.
Brewery Quarter Flood Relief
Development of a brownfield site to resolve existing flooding issues and to allow developers to successfully build upon the site. The new Cornwall Council development included a new housing estate, supermarket, waste recycling centre and the restoration of a historic building as a tourist attraction.
Combe Down Stone Mine
This energy and utilities project for Bath & North East Somerset involved the stabilisation of the land on which 700 homes were built. The stabilisation of the underground mines was achieved by filling the mine shafts with foamed concrete.
Leisure Maintenance Upgrade
Refurbishment programme of 14 Cornwall council-owned leisure centres. The services entailed a review of each buildings conditions to identify and prioritise maintenance and replacement works. This included engineering safety, building fabric, access and other safety-related systems.
Whiteknights Utilities
Upgrade of the Whiteknights Utilities infrastructure to provide heat and power to 13 building across the University of Reading campus. This included a new Energy Centre with combined heat and power plant, together with LTHW district heating network, demolition of the old boiler house and strip out of the old steam mains.
