Broadridge Heath Major Improvement
The Broadbridge Heath Major Improvement project aimed to improve reduce the traffic between the A281 and the A24, through Broadbridge Heath Village and reduce severance between Broadbridge Heath and the new developments. In addition, it provided the ability to increase the number of trips by sustainable methods such as cyclists and increased safety measures for all road users.
The improvement works included the removal of the connection from Billinghurst Road to the Newbridge Roundabout, the development of a new connector road to the downgraded C622 and new on road cycle facilities on the exisitng carriageway. In addition, the project provided a new, off road, combined footway/cycleway and an existing dual carriageaway was narrowed to a single lane to provide a new cycle link. The improvements included partial signalisation of the Farthings Hill roundabout to provide for pedstrian and cycle crossing.
Provelio were appointed as Project Managers for the construction phase of the road downgrading, junction improvements and the installation of the pedestrian and cycle link. Provelio provided support in the development, review and feedback on tender documents and Works Information, provided monthly reports to the client officer, supported the client in communicating effectively with the local community and highway users and prepared a lessons learnt report.
