Sector: Heritage, Local Authority
Service: Programme and Project Management
Value: £161M

A significant £161M project which aimed to stabilise underground stone mines at Combe Down, a 700-home village suburh of Bath. The scheme was programmed to last for 5 years and would cause a certain level of disruption to the local community due to the mines location, therefore it was imperative that the impact on the local residents of Bath were considered. Provelio were appointed as Project Managers for the duration of the project. The project carried significant risk in terms of the Council’s exposure to personal injury and property damage, cost and time overrun and publicity. It therefore required high levels of stakeholder engagement between the project team, community groups, Natural England and English Heritage to ensure the project was delivered successfully.
