McCarthy Stone operates a retirement living complex named Pavilion Court, in Felixstowe, Suffolk.
The complex is made up of up of two residential blocks, one with 8 storeys and one with 9 storeys and they house 46 flats in total.
Following an External Wall System (EWS) assessment, the premises received an EWS 1 rating of B2 meaning remedial works – and potentially interim measures – are required in order to comply with fire safety standards. We are in the process of completing a gateway 2 application to the building safety regulator.
In addition to the EWS 1 remedial works there have been reported issues of rainwater ingress in 7 of the apartments and a specialist building envelope contractor TSL has been engaged to complete investigations of the leaks. Subject to the investigation findings, these remedials may be completed at the same time as the EWS 1 works.
