Cossham Hospital Imaging Suite

Cossham hospital required a new Diagnostic Imaging Suite. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic the project was split into two phases: installation of a temporary facility and creation of a new permanent facility.

The first phase involved the installation of a temporary facility for the Diagnostic Imaging Suite within the grounds of the hospital estate. As Project Managers our role was to manage the procurement of the equipment, development of the temporary buildings, and installation of the complete facility. The temporary facility provided a state-of-the-art Siemens (turnkey specialist provider) CT Scanner and MRI Scanner. The project required room layout planning, M&E installation, and communication with manufacturer to ensure easy installation of the equipment within the temporary facility.
The second phase of the project, which commenced after COVID-19 restrictions had eased, involved creating a new permanenet facility within the building for the suite. Cossham Hospital is a listed hospital, therefore additional considerations had to be given during the installation of the new suite and its associated equipment. With the new suite being delivered within this unique setting, effective stakeholder management and programming was required. This was to ensure that the project did not disrupt hospital operation or create any risk to patient and staff safety and welfare.
