A £17.6m refurbishment and extension project of the University’s existing on-campus theatre that was originally built in the early 1960’s. The refurbishment forms part of the University’s ten-year plan of capital investment, with the building recently being handed back to the University after being leased for a number of years by Nuffield Southampton Theatres Trust. The newly updated building will be used as both a Teaching and Performing Arts space to accommodate student and visiting theatre productions.

Provelio are appointed as project manager for the duration of the project, with the role expanding to Contract Administrator upon appointment of a contractor. Johnny Clover is currently appointed as the PM, whilst Jeremy Sneddon is the acting Account Director. Alongside the refurbishment of the auditorium, anew foyer will be developed, and the toilet facilities will be updated.

Due to the construction of the original building occurring in the 1960s, the environmental standards do not meet the Universities current expectations and a suitable sustainability strategy will be developed to achieve this goal.

Provelio are responsible for the successful delivery of the project from conception to defects liability. The responsibilities also include managing and mitigating risks, managing project team deliverables in line with the client’s expectations, and liaising and reporting to various stakeholders throughout the project’s duration.
